My name is Maggie and I run Adelaide Bakes, hosting the best baking classes in Adelaide!
I began baking about 15 years ago and once I started I just couldn't stop, I literally became obsessed! I am predominantly self taught with a long list of success and failures under my belt in the baking arena. I love learning and attend classes and workshops as often as I can to keep up to date with trends and techniques. I have even traveled interstate to learn patisserie techniques from some of the best in the industry and won ribbons for my baking in the Royal Adelaide Show, including a blue first place for my tartlets in 2012 along with first place for my carrot cake and second place for my macarons in 2016 and 2018.
Professionally, I opened my first catering company in 2007 at 21 and have been in the catering and events industry for almost 12 years. I have run two commercial catering companies where the freshest ingredients were used to make delicious savouries and sweets from scratch for birthdays, engagements, weddings and so many more wonderful celebrations, catering for upwards of 300 guests at any time. However my greatest passion has always been celebrating life's events through my baking along with passing on my knowledge to others.
First and foremost I am a baker, for this reason my baked goods need to taste even better then they look.
